Small Business Month: My First Sale

Today we are talking about our very first sale for Small Business Month over at Three's 4 Me.  I remember every detail of that blessed day.  It was June 3, 2011.  At this point in time Ashyr was only 2 months old which meant middle of the night feedings.  And having just opened my etsy shop without a sale yet, of course I would go check my etsy shop at 3 am after nursing Ashyr.  My heart literally stopped when I checked it and found my first sale: Vintage Red and White Spectator Pumps.

I ran into the bedroom (my legs had gone numb!) and woke up my husband to proclaim the big news.  He was as excited as he possibly could for being woken up at 3 am.  I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't.  I just thought, "Why on earth did someone actually buy something from me? I don't really know what I'm doing!" So with my mind too active for sleep, I got up and packaged the shoes for the post office which I went to first thing in the morning.  I had to get that thing shipped ASAP.  When I got my first positive feedback a week later, my heart stopped again.  Now when I make a sale, I am thrilled, but collected...and I don't check my shop in the middle of the night anymore.
