Saturday Morning Coffee 11.12: Thankful Series

In continuation with my thankful posts this month on Saturdays, next up is someone that I don't talk much about on here. My husband of 2 1/2 years, Grant. But today is a whole post dedicated to my best friend. I am beyond blessed to have him in my life, seriously words cannot express it...but I will try. Just know that how I feel is so much more than these lousy words.

First, he is a strong man on God.  I have not met anyone (I mean that) who loves Christ as much as he does. It's incredible. I am thankful to have a husband who truly loves me as Christ loves the church and looks towards Him first and foremost. I never really understood the concept, and it always seemed so cliche. After being married to Grant, I see it lived out every day. He really pushes me towards Christ, and that is exactly what I need.

Second, he is my closest friend and I'm thankful to have a lifelong companion.  I enjoy every moment with him and always look forward to our time together. I love going out on fun dates or just staying home and reading together. Doesn't matter, I just like to be with him.  My world feels safer and brighter.  He makes me laugh, makes me smile, and opens my eyes up to so many things. Yes, of course, we have our ups and downs (what marriage doesn't?) but I love that we are always working together even when things are hard. Usually I'm the source of the problem (seriously) and he is so kind and patient with me.  Don't deserve it.

Third, he is an amazing father.  I am always taken back at how good he is at interacting and loving Ashyr.  And Ashyr sure loves his daddy. He squeals and crawls really fast over to Grant as soon as he walks in the door.  (I mean I do the same, except I can walk).

Fourth, I'm thankful that he provides for our family, so I can stay at home with Ashyr.  I feel like I have it so easy to be at home all day long while he does the real work, yet he never complains. I'm also thankful that he does give me some work to do on his web design business which I really enjoy. Such a nice break sometimes from cooking, cleaning, and changing diapers.

Couldn't ask for a better husband...love you, Grant.
