Last night we hosted a Christmas shindig for a group of friends. We had so much fun playing games, telling stories, singing Christmas songs, and munching on holiday treats all night long. I made this punch for the first time, but I'm confident it will be a new Christmas tradition. I was nervous to try a new recipe for a large crowd because I thought it might be too tart with the cranberry juice. But it was actually the perfect combination of sweet and tart. SO good--it was all gone by the end of the night!
Ingredients:
1 - 3 oz. package of cherry flavored gelatin
1 cup of boiling water
1 - 6 oz. can of frozen lemonade or pineapple-orange juice concentrate
3 cups of cold water
1 - 1 quart bottle of cranberry juice cocktail, chilled
1 - 1 pint of ginger ale, chilled
Directions:
Dissolve cherry flavored gelatin in boiling water. Stir in lemonade or pineapple-orange juice concentrate. Add the cold water and the cranberry juice cocktail. Place in a large punch bowl. Slowly pour in chilled ginger ale. Garnish with oranges and cranberries. Makes about 25 servings.
