Well hello there! So nice to have you on my blog! I'm Ashlee, a wife and stay at home mommy. While I love my husband and baby boy, I want to make it clear and say right of the bat that I love Jesus and His Word more than anything. I truly enjoy being a homemaker and want to do it biblically by imitating the Proverbs 31 woman. However, in my efforts of trying to attain the goal of being a hard working wife and mother, I never want to lose sight of simply and quietly sitting at the feet of Jesus like Mary Magdalene. I know there is certainly a place for both and I am constantly searching for the balance as my first calling is not wife and mother, but disciple of Christ.
This blog does feature things related to homemaking such as recipes, diy projects, frugal living, mommy tips, marriage, and tasteful modest clothing; however, there may be times where I include spiritual lessons I'm learning or insights as I strive to pay attention to Jesus first and foremost.
My college degrees are in dietetics, kinesiology, and nutrition and exercise science. Prior to being a mommy, I worked for a fitness company doing nutrition counseling and still have a passion for the field. You can expect some health related topics mixed in there with homemaking. On the other hand, I have a serious sweet tooth and a hankering for junk food now and then (everything in moderation, right?) So expect both. :)
I love exploring the city, coffee shops, thrift store shopping, and snuggling up with a book on rainy days.
I hope you enjoy Capernaum Home and visit regularly. Please feel free to leave a comment or email me even just to say hi at capernaum.home@gmail.com. I'd love to meet ya!
Blessings,
Ashlee
